UVDB is the utility industry pre-qualification system used by the utilities sector in the UK to manage risk within the supply chain and comply with EU regulations. Joining UVDB as a supplier provides our organisation with an opportunity to showcase our capabilities and access multiple contract opportunities by completing a single pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ). UVDB is used by many utility buyer organisations to source potential suppliers.

Buyers use UVDB to search for suitable companies by the product or service relevant to their requirement(s). They may then apply further criteria to refine the tender list and/or use our Additional Questions feature to ask contract-specific questions.

Those utilities who are required to comply with EU regulations announce their intentions to source through the UVDB in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) on a regular basis. UVDB is operated as a ‘Qualification System’ under Article 30 of the EU Utility Directive.

Gas Safe Register is the only official gas registration body of gas businesses and engineers in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey. By law all gas businesses must be on the Gas Safe Register.

A gas engineer can only be aligned to a registered business and be issued with a license to undertake gas work on behalf of a registered business if they hold a valid and current qualification. This evidence of competence relates only to matters of gas safety and is obtained by every engineer through a recognised route of training and assessment (much as the DVLA issues driving licences to those who have demonstrated their competence by passing a driving test).

Registration is only given on the basis of the business having at least one gas safety qualified engineer.

The Register is not a membership body or trade association.

The Register (and all services associated with it) is operated on behalf of the relevant Health and Safety Authority for each region in which it operates– i.e. Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey.

CECA represent civil engineering contractors building and maintaining the UK’s critical infrastructure networks in transport, energy, water, waste and communications.

Leading the industry in terms of its efforts to improve the health and safety record for the civil engineering sector, CECA has active involvement in the shaping of the debate principally through its access to the HSE’s Construction Industry Advisory Committee (ConIAC) where CECA sits on the overarching ConIAC Acting Together Steering Group.

CECA also provides the role of Chair of the Tackling Ill-Health Working Group. It is also represented on a number of other HSE groups, namely, the Keeping Pace with Change Working Group and also the Sharing our Success Working Group where it has the role of Vice-Chair.

We are pleased to announce that we have been appointed as a supplier on the Pagabo Mechanical & Electrical Solutions Framework.

The framework will run for four years and has been designed as a solutions-based offering. It’s available to all types of public sector organisations to procure their mechanical and electrical requirements.

On the 22cnd of March SBU successfully completed their ETS Audit to become fully integrated into the HIS IMS ISOQAR Certification. This was the culmination of 6 weeks hard work by the SBU team and the wider HIS group. As part of this process all the existing documentation in the HIS system has been amended to reflect this, all documents now have the SBU logo included. A great achievement and a huge well done to all involved fantastic team effort to get this across the line.
